What's My Class Now?

SCCA has reconfigured several classes in the Stock category. C5s and Z06s will remain in Super Stock while their older brothers and sisters move to the newly reconfigured A Stock. Some of the car models that were in A Stock have been reclassified; the Porshe Boxster "S" moves to Super Stock, the Porsche Boxster (non-S) moves to B Stock along with the Honda S2000. Also, all Dodge Neons move to G Stock.

Other notable changes are as follows:

Stock 2 (B Stock): Camaro SS 96+, Corvette 63-82, BMW M3, BMW Z3
Stock 2 (C Stock): Miata 1.8
Stock 2 (E Stock): Miata 1.6

There are other class changes that some competitors need to be aware of. You should review the current SCCA rule book for any class changes that may affect you.

AAS will continue with the same concept of combining some low-attended classes into a paxed class as was done in previous years.

For the 2002 competition year, the Super Stock and A Stock Corvettes will compete in separate classes. The Stock 1 designation will be held in reserve in case that it is necessary to combine the SS and AS classes into one paxed class. F Stock will remain separate as long as this class is supported and attended by the competitors. CSP and ESP will remain separate classes. OSP Ladies will be moved into Street Prepared Ladies.

As of 8/12/2002: STS and STX paxed cars will not be allowed to compete in the Street Tire (TIRE) class. The Street Touring (ST) class will be combined to reflect STS and STX paxes.

The Stock 2 class will consist of a combined class of CS, DS, ES, GS, and HS. B Stock will become a separate class. The associated Ladies classes of AS, BS, CS, DS, ES, FS, GS, HS, and SS will be combined and paxed as the Stock Ladies class.

The Prepared and Modified categories will remain the same for 2002.

During the year, if a class has an increase of competitors that will continue to represent and support the class at following events, AAS will separate that class from the combined class into their respective open class. The times recorded from the previous events will be recalculated and the points will be awarded as if the class began the competition year as a separate class.
